WHY YOU NEED PR

“Publicity is absolutely critical. A good PR story is infinitely more effective than a frontpage ad.” – Sir Richard Branson

Many businesses find it difficult to understand what Public Relations is and whether or not they need PR.

Public Relations is about reputation and communicating positive messages to audiences that matter to your business. Those messages can be about your products and services, your successes, your innovations, the values and style of your business, and so much more. The main objective of PR is to use intermediaries to communicate with and influence your audience.

Whilst PR is a credible form of promotion, it is the least understood of all marketing tools. So how can PR benefit your business?

Improves your bottom line

PR can offer a better return on your investment. Traditional marketing can be very expensive, by working with a public relations specialist you can save money, as there is no more need to invest in the old marketing methods that may not have worked. Press releases and media coverage take the place of expensive advertising campaigns.

Builds Credibility

Effective PR allows your brand to attain a positive image both online and offline. This can benefit your company for the long haul. By articulating your story to media outlets, you are giving an opportunity for your business’s story and product to be profiled. Positive endorsement from a third party generates much more credibility than advertising.

New and increased business

A well-designed public relations campaign can result in reaching your target audience with more detailed information. People tend to believe the editorial content of mass media more than they do with paid advertising messages. The result is increased consumer confidence, goodwill and new business.

Small businesses often overlook PR as a marketing tool to help tell their story and promote their thriving business. It’s not just about promoting your business though, PR also creates a strong brand awareness of your company as effectively as possible.
Your business maybe small but that doesn’t mean you don’t have a great story to tell the media.
