WHAT DO WE DO AT MMB MAGAZINE SOUTH YORKSHIRE AND DERBYSHIRE
MMB Magazine South Yorkshire and Derbyshire aims to support all working mothers with savvy advice from family finance, maternity and paternity rights through to career and leadership advice. We run a number of events from our annual MMB lunch, MMB privat lunch club through to our MMB Sheffield Business Club and MMB Chesterfield Business Club, supporting parent business owners.
One of our main aims is to change the landscape for working mothers who so often have to choose between raising a family and progressing a career, with the dreaded “Motherhood penalty”. This is something that is being welcomed by mothers and fathers alike and we are working closely with employers to deliver this.
WHEN DID WE LAUNCH
We launched late 2015 with West Yorkshire MMB Magazine and have hit the ground running, along with our two 15k print runs of our magazine in April and September.
We are now launching our South Yorkshire & Derbyshire region and office in February 2018. South Yorkshire & Derbyshire is run by Lisa Betsworth a working mother and business owner herself. She will be working to bring the same success to the South Yorkshire and Derbyshire area, including our first print run magazine of 5k in April 2018.
We are passionate about flexible working and work with a number of companies across the regions to promote and help deliver this to our parents.
WHY IS MMB MAGAZINE SOUTH YORKSHIRE & DERBYSHIRE IMPORTANT
Returning to work after children don’t take away the skills, ambition and talent women had prior, so why should your ambition, career growth and goals have to change because of part-time working? It’s a sad fact until we have more career part-time roles in the business market we won’t see a change in the statistics on women in senior positions or at boardroom level. And this is most definitely a modern family issue.
We hold a number of events throughout the year for working mothers so make sure you are signed up with us to hear all about them. Sign up here for free.
One thing we can say is that our mothers certainly do mean business!
