I still remember watching Disney films curled up on the sofa with my dad and can smell the hot chocolate now when I remember those moments. And when we went to Disney Land age 10 I am not sure if it was me or my dad who was the most excited. Carrying around my autograph book trying to get all the characters to sign, the music, and parades. It really is that bit of magic and make-believe.
Now as I have children myself I see how far the films have come a long way and how now most little boys and girls can find a Disney hero that they can relate to and the fact the girl does the saving now is even better! Don’t get me wrong we still love the classics but the new modern take is so much more a representation I would want my children to be exposed to.
Disney 100 Sparkly Mickey & Disney 100 Dumbo
We were so lucky to get sent the new Disney 100 Sparkly Mickey in their stunning platinum celebration outfits along with Dumbo in the Disney 100 Platinum Colour Series in gorgeous satin and sparkly fabrics.
I had told Kimi and Eliza they were coming and while Eliza is a little too young to understand apart from saying Dumbo, not sure if that’s at me or it’s her new favourite character, Kimi asked every day after school if it had arrived as he dreams of going to Disney World.
The toys are not only so special due to the Disney 100 Platinum range but how soft they are, I really didnt expect such great quality. They are so tactile that my little girl just pushers her face against Dumbo when she starts to feel sleepy and runs her little hands through the fur and she is off into the land of nod.
Kimi is 9yrs old and is selective on his soft toys now, but who doesn’t love Mickey! Mickey has taken the coveted spot along with Dave the monkey in his bed on a night. This has to be with how tactile the fur is, its beyond soft and that iconic Mickey Mouse face.
And while Eliza carries poor Dumbo by his nose everywhere and takes him out in the pram and forces tea party after tea party on him. Kimi is far too cool for that and Mickey tends to chill playing computer games with him! So no matter the age of your children i think they will all have a space on their Christmas gift list or toy shelf,
Kimi now has his own Mickey to match the one I got over 30 years ago from Disney land that he plays with when we go over to my parents to stay. So he feels very important he has his own Mickey Mouse Disney Plush Toy from the Disney 100.
We have even started our Disney Sunday movie afternoons cuddled up on the couch sharing some great time together while they both get to explore the magic of Disney films. I just hope they have the same memories of me as I do of me and my dad over 40 years ago.

For 2023, Walt Disney Company is celebrating its 100th Anniversary. Celebrating all that is Disney from the early years to date with the Disney 100 plush toy launch.
