“A feast for the eyes and soul, pure entertainment from start to finish. Never have I seen my little boy’s jaw drop in amazement and wonder, and his hands clap so hard.”
We were so lucky to be invited as guests of Sheffield Lyceum to watch the fantastic Bedknobs and Broomsticks stage show.
I must admit I was a little nervous as it’s the first time Kimi (8yrs) has been to an older aged theatre show (Blame covid for that!) and at the evening showing at 7.30 pm. Having had a late night out at football the night before with his dad, I was filled with dread that this could go very wrong with a one tired and cranky little boy!!!!
Our Bedknobs & Broomsticks Musical Review
I haven’t seen a show this good in a long time, and not for one minute did his attention waiver; his jaw dropped at some of the scenes, and his hands must have hurt from how hard he was clapping from watching the most engaging actors to the pure genius of set design and costume. It’s one of the best I have seen and the perfect introduction; my only fear now is who will top it or compare!!!
We are still trying to figure out how the swords danced on stage, and the bed flew through the air, people turned into rabbits in front of your eyes, not mentioning the fantastic dancing and signing and who the costumes were just an explosion of colour texture.
But Seriously, let me know if you figure it out; not a wire in sight!).
Kimi’s Favorite bit: The bomb explosions, flying bed and rabbit trick.
My Favourite bit: The most notable and sensational Dianne Pilkington who plays Miss Eglantine Price. This lady is phenomenal, from voice to comic timing.
