👉 Last updated: 2026
Whether you’re looking for soft play area in Liverpool city centre, cheap soft play options, toddler-friendly play areas or indoor play centres for older kids, there are plenty of great choices across Liverpool and the surrounding areas.

As a mum of two, Eliza (5) and Kimi (12), I’ve tried a mix of soft play centres across Liverpool and the Wirral over the years. Some are perfect for toddlers, others are much better for older kids — and knowing where to go can make or break your day. So we tell you more than just the opening hours, and if they have a great coffee shop, so you can choose the right place for the whole family with these play areas.
This guide brings together the soft play centres we genuinely recommend, along with what they’re best for, what they cost, and the little things that actually matter when you’re there.

If you just want the best options quickly, these are the ones we’d recommend starting with.
Crazy Town Aintree
Address📍 Vesty Business Park, Vesty Rd, Bootle, L30 1NY
Website: Crazy Town kids’ physical activity & entertainment indoor play centre
Cost💷 ££
57 Parking spaces on site
👶 Best for: Toddlers + mixed ages (Up to age 10 and height restriction of 4ft 9″)
🍽 Food: Full café
One of the biggest and most popular soft play centres in the area, and your children will love it so much to do and explore. It’s well worth the money, with such a huge range of activities within the dedicated play zones. There’s a huge multi-level large play frame plus toddler sessions, so it works really well if you’ve got kids of different ages.
They also do discos from 3pm to 7pm on certain days, so make sure to check them out and the fab special character appearances.
👉 Great all-rounder and worth the drive.
The Fun Factor
📍 Sefton Lane, Maghull
💷 ££
👶 Best for: Babies to older kids
🍽 Food: Café
Good news, the Fun Factor is one of the biggest soft play centres in Liverpool, and it’s one of those places that kids get excited about before you’ve even walked through the door.
Inside, there’s a huge play frame with a 20ft Space Rocket, the longest 4-lane Astra slide in Liverpool, and loads of different zones to explore. It’s ideal if you’ve got kids of different ages, as there’s plenty to keep everyone entertained.
From experience, this is the kind of place where you can easily spend a few hours without hearing “I’m bored” — especially during school holidays.
👉 Best for: longer visits, mixed ages and high-energy kids
👉 Mum tip: go earlier in the day if you want to avoid peak-time crowds
Flip Out Liverpool
📍 Liverpool ONE
💷 ££–£££
👶 Best for: 5+
🍽 Food: Snacks
More of an indoor activity park than traditional soft play, so you won’t find a huge climbing frame, but you will find so many interactive zones for hours of fun. Great for older kids who need something more exciting, and for younger kids too. Kimi loves the shoot-out in the ball cannon zone; the ninja course brings out the mini ninjas. Eliza drives the bumper cars and shoots out. Really good way to let the kids have a great day out.

👉 Ideal if your child has outgrown soft play.
Yellow Sub Play Centre
📍 Yellow Sub, Dempster Buildings, Atlantic Way, Brunswick Business Park, Liverpool L3 4BE
Website: Home – Yellow Sub
💷 ££
👶 Best for: Toddlers to 8yrs
🍽 Food: Yes – Yellow Sub’s amazing restaurant is a hit for us when we visit for food
A really good option just by the River Mersey, and Kimi and ELiza love it, although Kimi’s gutted now he is too old. The main climbing frame is enough for both of them to enjoy when Kimi was younger, and for Eliza, a brave and energetic 5-year-old, to stay entertained. Easy to walk to from Liverpool’s famous Albert Docks, or buses stop close by. Parking is also on site. A real hit for a fab play environment and a great place to put on your list for a soft play day out.
👉 Easier to supervise younger children here.
Spaceworld Soft Play Liverpool
📍 2-3 Sinclair Way, Ropers Court, Prescot, L34 1QN (just outside Liverpool)
Website: Space World Play Centre
💷 From around £3–£5 (depending on session)
👶 Best for: Toddlers to around 10 years
🍽 Food: Full café with hot meals
Spaceworld is one of those places that feels like a proper “big soft play day out” rather than just somewhere to pop in for an hour with their state-of-the-art playframe.
Inside, there’s a huge state of the art playframe that’s a multi-level play frame spread over different zones, with things like a 20ft space rocket, big slides (including a four-lane one), and loads of different bits to keep kids moving. There’s also a separate toddler area, which is really important if you’ve got little ones with you.
One thing that makes it stand out a bit is the extra activities — like the electric space buggies, which older kids especially love.
From a parent’s point of view, it’s got a proper café on site with hot food (not just crisps and snacks), which always makes a difference if you’re staying a while.
👉 Mum reality:
It’s a bigger, busier soft play, so it can get quite lively at peak times — but that’s also why kids tend to love it.
👉 Worth knowing:
- best for mixed ages
- good for longer visits (not just a quick play)
- Book ahead during weekends and school holidays
The Space World Play Centre always has Eliza with the fab space buggies, as well as the 3/4 tier soft play frame. The perfect place for her to explore for a fun-filled day.

👉 Imagine That! Science and Discovery Centre
📍 Wavertree (You can walk from the train station as well as drive.
Website: Home – Imagine That!
💷 ££
👶 Best for: Toddlers to around 10
🍽 Food: Café on site
This isn’t technically soft play, but we always recommend it — especially if you’re looking for something a bit different (or if you’ve already done a few soft play centres and want a change).
Imagine That is one of those places that keeps kids entertained in a completely different way. Instead of just running around, they can get stuck into hands-on activities like role play, science experiments, art and building — which works really well if you’ve got a mix of ages.

Eliza absolutely loves it here as does Kimi, especially the creative and messy play areas, and it’s one of those places where you can easily spend a few hours without it feeling repetitive.
👉 Mum tip:
This is a really good option for rainy days when you still want something interactive, but without the noise and chaos of a big soft play.
👉 Worth knowing:
- good mix of structured and free play
- ideal for younger children who like hands-on activities
- works well as a half-day or full-day visit

Website: Otterspool Adventure Centre | The Best Family Days Out in Liverpool | Kids Activities & Fun

🍽 Food: Café on site
Otterspool Adventure Centre is one of those places we come back to when we want more than just soft play — it’s more of a full day out and throw in some good weather for the best day out.
There is an indoor play area, but what makes it stand out is everything else alongside it. You’ve got outdoor play, rides and loads of space for kids to run around, which is ideal if you’ve got children with lots of energy.
Eliza loves the mix of indoor and outdoor play, and it’s one of those places where you can easily spend a few hours without needing to move on somewhere else.
👉 Mum tip:
Best on a dry day so you can make the most of everything — it’s much more than just the indoor play.
👉 Worth knowing:
- great for mixed ages
- works well as a full day out
- good option if you want something different to traditional soft play
Slimeville Kids Playground
📍 78 Duke Street, L1 5AA
💷 ££
Website: Our Attractions – SLIMEVILLE
👶 Best for: Older kids + creative play
🍽 Food: Not a huge selection
Slimeville is a bit different from your usual soft play — and that’s exactly why it’s worth including.
Instead of a big climbing frame, it focuses more on creative play, activities and hands-on fun, which can be a really nice change if your kids are starting to get bored of traditional soft play centres.
It’s also a really good option if you’re already in the city centre and want something quick and easy to add into your day without needing to travel. We haven’t been yet, but so many readers have mentioned it, we had to include.
👉 Mum reality:
Not somewhere you’ll spend all day, but perfect for a shorter, fun activity.
👉 Best for:
combining with a day in Liverpool city centre
older kids who want something different
