MMB Magazine Review: Sheffield Lyceum Panto 2024 – A Christmas Must-See!
For the third year running, Sheffield Lyceum has knocked it out of the park with its Christmas pantomime, proving yet again why it’s the ultimate festive treat for families. This year’s production, running from Fri 6 Dec 2024 – Sun 5 Jan 2025, delivers the perfect mix of hilarity, heart, and high-energy entertainment that delights children and adults alike.
With a star-studded cast featuring the sensational Catherine Tyldesley (Strictly Come Dancing, Coronation Street), Gladiator’s Viper Quang Luong, Sheffield’s legendary Dame Damian Williams, and hometown hero Matthew Croke, the stage comes alive with unmatched chemistry and dazzling performances. They’re joined by the talented Marc Pickering, George Akid, and Aoife Kenny, rounding out a cast that exudes passion and joy in every scene.
Once again, Paul Hendy’s writing shines with fresh, original, and laugh-out-loud content that keeps the audience engaged from start to finish. The jokes land perfectly for all ages, and the cast’s comedic timing and on-stage camaraderie are simply hysterical. You can tell the actors love every moment, and that energy translates into an unforgettable experience for the audience.
The production team, Evolution Productions, has outdone themselves with stunning costumes, lavish sets, and fabulous music that bring this magical world to life. From start to finish, it’s a spectacle of the highest calibre, filled with everything you expect from a top-tier panto – big laughs, unforgettable moments, and timeless family fun.
Whether you’re a lifelong panto fan or new to the tradition, this year’s Lyceum Panto is a must-see. Performances are scheduled throughout the day at 1pm, 7pm, 10:15am, 2:30pm, 5:30pm, and 2pm, with a running time of approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes (including a 15-minute interval).
This has become a firm annual tradition for us at MMB Magazine, and we can’t imagine a better way to celebrate the festive season. It’s safe to say we couldn’t recommend another panto above this one! Make it your family’s holiday treat, and prepare to laugh until your cheeks hurt.
