Scriba PR – based in a converted mill in Lindley, Huddersfield – set out in 2013 to provide copywriting and PR services to business-to-business organisations, particularly those who feel their story is too complex to tell. And that’s remained our strict focus ever since. Such companies repeatedly tell us that they’re the region’s/nation’s/industry’s ‘best-kept secret’, but we don’t think this should be the case! These are often the companies with many exciting stories to share and the ‘leading lights’ in the business world. So we give the most cutting-edge companies a voice, thereby bridging the gap between them and the media.

TYPES OF ROLES: Flexible Working / Job Share / Part Time

About Scriba PR

Our all-female teamwork in a heavily dominated male environment, due to the technology companies we assist. Although this could go against us, it has never been a problem by ‘wowing’ prospective clients from the start. The company has grown an enviable reputation amongst the niche industries we support – tech, recycling and motoring, to name a few – and this has meant some large and hugely successful businesses have sought us outs. For example, an Austrian recycling firm, a loyal client of ours, required our expertise, and we were there to help!

And there is far more to Scriba than PR!

MD Katie Mallinson has invested a significant amount of time in the entrepreneurship of young people through voluntary workshops, lectures and one-to-one time with students of the University of Huddersfield and Greenhead College. She has also been appointed member of the Advisory Committee at the University and a Governor of Greenhead College.

Katie also heavily invests time and money into the training of the Scriba team. Alongside formal courses provided by external parties, we also hold monthly in-house development sessions to fuel the growth of our PR skills and look after our bodies and minds! Our recent workshops have focused on best practice customer service, ‘how to write the perfect press release’ and mindfulness, for example. Future sessions include analytics and pitching skills, and we are preparing to hold these workshops at our offices for clients and other interested parties from April 2018 onwards. We want to help make others better communicators too!

Fresh fruit in the office, flowers on desks, a feeling of team camaraderie, and regular socials play an equal role in keeping the team of seven happy in their roles.
